Karel Mollen, the last professional falconer in Europe, and his father Adriaan are described through a selection of texts from the many books and articles that, over a 18o-year period, have been published about falconry and about these two gentlemen.
Karel Mollen (1854-1935) was a falconer and worldwide supplier of hawks and hawking furniture. His father, Adrian Mollen (1816-1895) used to be head-falconer to kings William II and King Willem III at the Royal Loo Hawking Club. When he died, Karl was frequently referred to as "the last falconer of Europe".
Our "MOLLEN style lure" is based on the vision of the original Mollen lures. This lure pattern is part of our roots and our history. Some things need to be remembered, because we live in a world, where we can get lost.
